LandAid Sleep Out - Retail Matters Week.

LandAid is the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK. LandAid are a Hammerson corporate charity partner, receiving a cash donation each year. 

On the Thursday 1 March 2018, a sleep out sponsored by Hammerson raised funds for LandAid House. Subject to funding, LandAid House will provide 146 bedrooms for young people at risk of becoming homeless. The building will offer a safe place to live as well as advice on housing, education, training and well-being.

Despite the sub-zero temperatures, three Hammerson employees slept out raising £4,485.00 for LandAid.

 

Key partners: 

Hammerson and Knight Frank sponsored the sleep out. Over 60 companies participated.

 

Outcome of campaign:

A total of £269,000 was raised for LandAid House! The building is now expected to open during Summer 2019.

 

  • Increased awareness of homelessness and LandAid

  • Funds raised for LandAid House

  • Supporting those who are/at risk of becoming homeless

  • Improved relationships between property professionals

LandAid remain a Hammerson corporate charity partner and we continue to look at opportunities and initiatives to support the charity. Previous examples of supporting LandAid include volunteers fundraising in a charity run and hosting LandAid’s summer drinks at Hammerson head office in King’s Place.
