The Property Week Awards 2017

Last modified on 21/08/2017

A case study in celebrating diversity, positive change and individual dynamism.

Property Week’s annual Award ceremony took place this week and it was exciting and motivating for our community to see how diversity, change and individual dynamism were celebrated and rewarded.

Nash Bond were the outstanding entry. Without doubt. They are helping create quality "place making"; a much over used phrase, but one that in this instance truly applies. The evolving diversity of uses in our towns and city centres continues as an upward trend and they showed that they understood the importance of creating places which have relevance and are not just simply filling space.

To stay best in class and ahead of the game, future winners are going to have to develop and expand this trend taking it even higher.

Bill Hughes deservedly got Personality of the year. He has very much led the charge in challenging what our industry does from how we build and own houses; how we think about city centres of the future to the diversity of people we employ. He’s made a massive contribution to the work the Revo led Taskforce did on the changing face of retail, and is a great advocate for our community with Government. Someone who walks the talk, or in his case cycles it!

Here’s to challenging ourselves, pushing ideas further and driving positive change as individuals and the collective which is our fantastic industry: the retail property and placemaking community.
